Nicolas Hamel is a student in the second year of the Master of Architecture program. He holds a degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Calgary and has worked as a Mechanical designer. His interests lie in the area of modular design and how it can be a tool for recontextualizing existing infrastructures. When not in the lab, he can be found working on his VW Van, shooting film photography or bouldering at the climbing gym. He is currently working on projects related to the walkability of cities and how urban installations can affect the definition of a street. Special skills include: parametric design, digital fabrication, drafting and modeling making.
